Doug Vos grew up in a Christian home, and learned about the good news of Jesus Christ from an early age. However, like many young people he “got involved in drugs and sex” during high-school and rebelled against God and his parents for several years. In 1975, Jesus reached down and saved Doug by his grace, and made him a new creation in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:17) As Doug recalled: “There was a mini-revival — a work of the Holy Spirit — with repentance and tears. Several kids in my church youth group confessed their sins and flushed their illegal drugs down the toilet that week.”
Doug met his wife Jane in high school where they began an after-school Bible study.
Doug & Jane are both graduates of Kuyper College (formerly Reformed Bible College) with BRE (religious education) degrees. They have been married over 40 years, and have 5 children and 12 grandchildren. They have been members of OHCC for over 30 years, and Doug has been serving as a Deacon for over 25 years. Doug enjoys leading growth groups at OHCC. He also serves as chairman of the Michigan/Ontario Presbytery Diaconal Committee.
Doug worked as a computer systems architect in “Big IT” (for EDS and HP) for 20 years before launching a web-design business in 2009. He enjoys helping churches, seminaries, and ministries with website and publishing strategies. He is publisher of The Aquila Report – a practical and theological online news magazine of interest to many OPC, PCA, and NAPARC church leaders.
In his “spare time” Doug enjoys music, and spending time with children and grand-children.
