David Mitchell married Melissa in 1975. They have 3 children, and 8 grand children. Dave graduated from high school in 1971, and attended some college before becoming involved in the skilled trades. He’s worked as a licensed builder and insulation contractor for the past four decades, and has continued learning about solar engineering and building heat via continuing education classes.
Melissa and Dave both came to Christ after many family prayers, and conversations with Pastor Ralph Rebandt (the founding pastor at Oakland Hills). They joined OHCC in 1989. Dave has been an active member (and president) of the Trustees for many years. He’s been serving as a Deacon since 2011.
He enjoys playing golf, and spending time with family. He loves using the gifts that God has given him to serve others — fixing things (and people) that are broken, by God’s grace.
One of his favorite verses is Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
